Dave's portfolio is not just about taking pretty pictures and one of his aims is to contribute to projects that have an educational or conservation value. As many articles in his portfolio reflect, his goal is to link information from the scientist / biologist in the field to the lay man on the street. Being able to disseminate information, photographically, to inform, educate and create awareness is hugely rewarding for him. His portfolio covers a wide variety of subjects, from the power of traditional healers, Sangomas, in Southern Africa to the on-going study of Feline Aids amongst the lion population. In keeping with his philosophy of education he continues to work on projects that dispell myths about animals such as wild dogs and hyena's, whose maligned reputations have impacted on their long term survival.
